Starting HTTP Requests from within a Slim App

I don't know where this has been asked - but I'm sure it has been asked some time ago (either on Issues, here or on the old Forum).

There was a Question / Request to create a way to start HTTP Requests from within Slim. I needed this as well and never liked to work with cURL directly. Now I delayed a feature on my application for which I finally found a proper way to implement.

As Slim does not currently support to start HTTP Requests I'm now using Requests to do so. That seems to be a very nifty way to open HTTP Connections. It's hosted - just like Slim - on GitHub. It just got featured on The Changelog.

Just wanted to share that in case anyone has similar needs.

Zend Framework also has quite a nice Http client. Remember that it's a loosely coupled library.

Glad you found a solution. This is on the roadmap, but I don't have a specific ETA for this. Right now I'd recommend integrating with a third-party lib.
